Please support our latest fundraising initiative through the crowdfunding site GOFUNDME. We would like to raise $2500 for September 2018, as the next academic year will start then. A full scholarship costs $1000USD per year; it covers tuition, fees and room and board. A partial scholarship covers tuition and fees and costs $400USD.

These girls are awaiting a high school education. Let’s help them achieve their dreams together!

Educate Girls Network began to raise funds in 2013. Initially, funds were raised through students from Delta, British Columbia, Canada, as well as by direct and generous donations. Friends in Vancouver and White Rock (also in Canada), as well as the town of Le Dorat near Limoges, France and Stowmarket in the UK have generously supported EGN. We have also printed and sold greetings cards with the support of students.  All proceeds went directly to support the EGN.

With these generous donations, the EGN was able to provide three scholarships to study in the College of Education and the College of Health Sciences at William V.S. Tubman University (TU) . The scholarships were for the academic years of 2014-15, 2015-16 and the present year of 2016-17. All of the students come from very poor villages in the rural areas of Maryland and River Gee Counties in the southeast of Liberia.

By awarding the Education Girls Network Scholarship, we lighten the financial burden for women, which allows them to focus more on the most important aspect of school – their studies. We hope one day they will be able to help other female students achieve their goals.

The time is running out and for the next academic year 2017-2018, the Friends of EGN will need to raise an amount of US$2,200.00. The EGN full or partial scholarship covers tuition, fees and dormitory and board. We hope that all network friends will continue to support recipients to achieve their dream to complete their teaching studies. With your support, the EGN will be able to provide scholarships to other female students and to continue to support current recipients.
