Eligibility

Any student who lives in the rural areas of the Grand Kru, River Gee and Maryland County in south-eastern Liberia are eligible. Students who have completed high school in good standing can apply for an EGN scholarship. The participants are selected based on their submitted application.

Selection criteria include parental consent, teacher recommendation, economic need, academic performance and expressed desire to pursue a career as a teacher. Priority goes to students who are from very poor families.

Selected participants must meet Tubman University admission requirements. The students eligible for the scholarship must maintain a 2.8 GPA or above. Generally, Tubman University-administered aid is awarded to full-time students. Students must register for a minimum of 12 credits per term to be considered full-time as an undergraduate.

Students apply directly through Tubman University.  A selected female student who will study in a discipline within the College of Education, will benefit from a scholarship which includes tuition and housing. Applicants interested in applying for this scholarship should contact TU’s Mrs. Viola L. Lincoln, Director for Financial Aid and Scholarships at 0886709902 for qualifying information.
