Support Girls Education in Liberia

Congratulations to Nyemady Freeman – Former EGN Scholar

Warm congratulations to Educate Girls Network (EGN) former scholar Nyemady Freeman, who was an outstanding and dedicated student throughout her years in the program. She graduated in June 2021 from the Tubman University Education College (Liberia), earning her degree in Guidance and Counselling.

Ms. Nyemady began her professional career at Tweh Jaikly High School in Fish Town, River Gee County. She continues to make us proud through her remarkable work in her community, where she is creating meaningful impact and championing girls’ education.

Below is a short reflection she shared about her daily work and motivation:“My work is going well. Being the only female staff member in my school can sometimes be stressful. I often think about how we can bring more women into schools and classrooms. For me, the best way is to encourage girls and young women to qualify themselves. This is why I stay engaged with the schools in my town. There are a few female teachers at the lower levels, but at the secondary level there is either one or none. All the teachers appreciate the effort being made, and they see it as timely. I hope we will have the opportunity to recommend someone for your program in the future”.

Join the Educate Girls Network in supporting more female students to continue their higher education at Tubman University. More female students will need financial support for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Her dream has become a reality, and now she is a nurse. She can now help to treat her fellow Liberians whom she knows are always in need of medical attention. Tresa is currently participating in professional practice, serving at the Jackson F. Doe Memorial Hospital in Tappeta, Nimba County, Liberia.
